     Hon. Douglas Martin Hogg was born on 5 February 1945.1 He is the son of Sir Quintin McGarel Hogg, Baron Hailsham of St. Marylebone and Mary Evelyn Martin.1 He married Sarah Elizabeth Mary Boyd-Carpenter, Baroness Hogg, daughter of John Archibald Boyd-Carpenter, Baron Boyd-Carpenter and Margaret Mary Hall, on 6 June 1968.1
     Hon. Douglas Martin Hogg gained the title of 3rd Viscount Hailsham. He disclaimed his viscountancy for life. He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.). He was invested as a Queen's Counsel (Q.C.).

     From 8 May 1694, her married name became Kellogg. From 17 January 1734, her married name became Lewis.1
