     Major Hon. Charles Cochrane was born on 12 January 1749.1 He was the son of Thomas Cochrane, 8th Earl of Dundonald and Jane Stuart.2 He married Catherine Pitcairn, daughter of Major John Pitcairn and Elizabeth Dalrymple.1 He died on 18 October 1781 at age 32 at North America, killed.1
