     Lieutenant William D'Arcy was born in 1780 at Gorteen, County Mayo, Ireland.1 He was the son of Francis D'Arcy and Lucy Knox.1 He married Mary Bartlett on 18 January 1810 at Modbury, Devon, England.1 He died on 6 August 1842.1 He was buried at Gravesend, Kent, England.1
     Lieutenant William D'Arcy gained the rank of Lieutenant in the service of the 13th Light Dragoons.1

     Lady Winifred Anne Grizel Cochrane usually went by her middle name of Anne.1 In January 1960 she was granted the rank of an earl's daughter.1 From 23 September 1967, her married name became Ashford.
