     Major Hon. William Erskine Cochrane was the son of Archibald Cochrane, 9th Earl of Dundonald and Anne Gilchrist.2 He married Mary Anne Manson, daughter of Alexander Manson.1 He died on 16 March 1871.1
     Major Hon. William Erskine Cochrane gained the rank of Major in the service of the 15th Hussars.1 He fought in the Peninsular War.1

     Colonel William Marshall Cochrane was born on 22 December 1817.1 He was the son of Major Hon. William Erskine Cochrane and Mary Anne Manson.2 He married, firstly, Mary Hussey, daughter of William Hussey, on 14 October 1846.1 He married, secondly, Elizabeth Mary Somerville Fairfax, daughter of Sir Henry Fairfax, 1st Bt., on 14 August 1884.3 He died on 30 July 1898 at age 80.3
     Colonel William Marshall Cochrane gained the rank of Colonel in the service of the 3rd Battalion, Highland Lightland Infantry.1
