     Rear-Admiral Sir Edward Owen Cochrane was born on 17 August 1881.1 He was the son of Vice-Admiral Basil Edward Cochrane and Cornelia Ramsay Owen.2 He married Mary Lucy George, daughter of Sydney King George, on 18 January 1908.1 He died on 27 January 1972 at age 90.1
     Rear-Admiral Sir Edward Owen Cochrane was educated at H.M.S. Britannia.1 He was commanding officer of the H.M.A.S. Cairo, East India Station.1 He fought in the First World War.1 He gained the rank of Rear-Admiral in 1924.1 He was commander of the Devonport Gunnery School between 1927 and 1929.1 He was Director of Training and Staff Duties between 1929 and 1931.1 He was commanding officer of the H.M.S. Repulse between 1931 and 1932.1 He held the office of Aide-de-Camp to King George V between 1932 and 1933.1 He gained the rank of Convoy Commodore in the service of the Royal Naval Reserve.1 He fought in the Second World War, where he was menioned in despatches.1 He was invested as a Knight Commander, Order of the British Empire (K.B.E.) in 1943.1

     Mary Lucy George was the daughter of Sydney King George.2 She married Rear-Admiral Sir Edward Owen Cochrane, son of Vice-Admiral Basil Edward Cochrane and Cornelia Ramsay Owen, on 18 January 1908.1 She died on 19 March 1955.1
     Mary Lucy George also went by the nick-name of Molly.1 From 18 January 1908, her married name became Cochrane.

     James Owen Cochrane was born on 21 July 1914.1 He was the son of Rear-Admiral Sir Edward Owen Cochrane and Mary Lucy George.2 He married, firstly, Margaret Angela Clare Round-Turner, daughter of Vice-Admiral Charles Wolfram Round-Turner, on 25 January 1941.1 He died on 13 February 1943 at age 28 at North Africa, killed in action.1
     James Owen Cochrane fought in the Second World War.1 He gained the rank of Acting Major in the service of the Royal Artillery.1 He was decorated with the Military Cross (M.C.) in 1943.1
