Thomas Acton was the son of Thomas Acton.1 He married Elinor Kempston, daughter of Colonel Nicholas Kempston and Grace Maule.1 He died on 2 January 1750.1
In 1697 he began building the house at Kilmacurragh.1 Between 13 February 1716 and 10 May 1716 he obtained two leases for lives renewable for ever of lands from Richard, Viscount Rosse.1
