     Margaret Campbell is the daughter of Sir J. Campbell of Lundie.² She married John Scrymgeour, son of John Scrymgeour and Isobel Cunningham.¹
     Her married name became Scrymgeour.¹

     Sir James Scrymgeour was the son of John Scrymgeour and Margaret Campbell.² He married Margaret Carnegie, daughter of Sir Robert Carnegie of Kinnaird and Margaret Guthrie.¹ He died on 13 July 1612.¹
     Sir James Scrymgeour lived at Dudhope, Forfarshire, Scotland.¹ He held the office of Provost of Dundee in 1588.¹ He was invested as a Knight in 1589 on his return from Denmark with embassy which negotiated marriage of the Danish Princess Anne to King James VI.¹ In 1600 he was confirmed by Act of Parliament, together with his heirs male, as bearer of the King's standard on all occassions, both on horse and foot.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Dundee in 1600.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Dundee in 1605.¹

     Sir John Gibson was born circa 1637.² He died on 24 October 1717.²

     Margaret Carnegie is the daughter of Sir Robert Carnegie of Kinnaird and Margaret Guthrie.^2,3 She married Sir James Scrymgeour, son of John Scrymgeour and Margaret Campbell.¹
     Her married name became Scrymgeour.¹

     John Scrymgeour, 1st Viscount Dudhope was born in 1570.¹ He was the son of Sir James Scrymgeour and Margaret Carnegie.² He married Margaret Seton, daughter of Sir David Seton of Parbroath, in September 1596.¹ He died on 7 March 1643.¹
     John Scrymgeour, 1st Viscount Dudhope held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Forfar [Scotland] in 1612.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Forfar [Scotland] in 1617.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Forfar [Scotland] in 1621.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Argyll [Scotland] between 1628 and 1633.¹ He was created 1st Viscount Dudhope [Scotland] on 15 November 1641.¹ He succeeded to the title of 1st Lord Scrimgeour [Scotland] on 15 November 1641.¹

     Margaret Seton is the daughter of Sir David Seton of Parbroath.² She married John Scrymgeour, 1st Viscount Dudhope, son of Sir James Scrymgeour and Margaret Carnegie, in September 1596.¹
     As a result of her marriage, Margaret Seton was styled as Viscountess Dudhope on 15 November 1641.

     James Scrymgeour, 2nd Viscount Dudhope was the son of John Scrymgeour, 1st Viscount Dudhope and Margaret Seton.² He married Lady Isabella Ker, daughter of Sir Robert Kerr, 1st Earl of Roxburghe, on 4 August 1618.¹ He died in 1644, killed in action.¹
     James Scrymgeour, 2nd Viscount Dudhope succeeded to the title of 2nd Lord Scrimgeour [S., 1641] on 7 March 1643.¹ He succeeded to the title of 2nd Viscount Dudhope [S., 1641] on 7 March 1643.¹ He fought in the Battle of Marston Moor in 1644.¹

     Lady Isabella Ker is the daughter of Sir Robert Kerr, 1st Earl of Roxburghe.² She married James Scrymgeour, 2nd Viscount Dudhope, son of John Scrymgeour, 1st Viscount Dudhope and Margaret Seton, on 4 August 1618.¹
     From 4 August 1618, her married name became Scrymgeour.¹ As a result of her marriage, Lady Isabella Ker was styled as Viscountess Dudhope on 7 March 1643.
