     Emily Geale Hester Lowry Alexander was born on 28 September 1895.1 She was the daughter of Colonel Charles Murray Alexander and Mary Anna Catherine Lowry.1 She married S/Ldr. Cecil George Mathew on 11 September 1920, they had one son and one daughter.1 She died on 5 August 1970 at age 74.1
     From 11 September 1920, her married name became Mathew.1
