     William Ralph Grierson was born on 22 July 1813 at Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland.1 He was the son of John Grierson and Lavinia Ashe Pike.1 He died on 20 September 1897 at age 84 at St. Arnaud, Victoria, Australia, unmarried.1
