Theodore Montgomery Archdale and Helen Alexander Russel.1 He married Lilian Patricia Dysart Wolseley, daughter of William Augustus Daniel Wolseley, on 25 March 1933.1 He and Lilian Patricia Dysart Wolseley were divorced in 1948.1
     Lt.-Cmdr. Alexander Mervyn Archdale was educated at Bedales School, Petersfield, Hampshire, England.1 He was educated at McGill University, Montréal, Quebec, Canada.1 He fought in the Second World War, as a Lieutenant-Commander with the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve.1 He was an actor.1 He was the founder of a Repertory Theater at Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.1
