     James Atkinson was born on 19 August 1766.1 He was the son of James Atkinson and Alice Gordon.1 He married Hannah Barrett, daughter of William Barrett, on 11 May 1791.1 He died in 1805.1
     James Atkinson lived at Newry, County Down, Ireland.1

     Lieutenant Robert Gordon Atkinson was born on 20 March 1792.1 He was the son of James Atkinson and Hannah Barrett.1 He died on 4 December 1820 unmarried at age 28, killed in action.1
     Lieutenant Robert Gordon Atkinson gained the rank of Lieutenant in the service of the Marines.1 He fought in the Attack on the North Fort of Mocha on 4 December 1820.1

     William Atkinson gained the rank of Officer in the service of the Spanish Army.1

     Maria Atkinson was born in 1795.1 She was the daughter of James Atkinson and Hannah Barrett.1 She married, firstly, James T. Wallace.1 She married, secondly, Lt.-Col. William Brackenbury, son of Colonel Richard Brackenbury, on 4 October 1820, they were the parents of four sons and four daughters.1
     Her married name became Wallace.1 From 4 October 1820, her married name became Brackenbury.1
