     James Barry was the son of Patrick Barry and Jane Foules.1 He married, firstly, Catherine Burn, daughter of Edward Burn.1 He married, secondly, Catherine Meagh.2 He married, thirdly, Eleanor Kerdiffe, daughter of James Kerdiffe.2 He married, fourthly, Joan Penteney, daughter of Michael Penteney.2 He died in 1598.1
     James Barry held the office of Alderman of Dublin.1 He lived at Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland, a merchant.1 He held the office of Sheriff of Dublin in 1577.1 He also had four other daughters by his first wife, who all died young.1
