     Rt. Hon. Sir Dunbar Plunket Barton, 1st and last Bt. was born on 29 October 1853.1 He was the son of Thomas Henry Barton and Hon. Charlotte Plunket.1 He married Mary Tottenham Manly, daughter of Joseph Manly, on 5 October 1900.1 He died on 11 September 1937 at age 83.1
     Rt. Hon. Sir Dunbar Plunket Barton, 1st and last Bt. was educated at Harrow School, Harrow on the Hill, London, England.1 He graduated from Corpus Christi College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, with a Master of Arts (M.A.).1 He was invested as a King's Counsel (K.C.)
