     Thomas Henry Barton was born in 1816.1 He was the son of Dunbar Barton and Elizabeth Riall.1 He married Hon. Charlotte Plunket, daughter of John Span Plunket, 3rd Baron Plunket of Newton and Charlotte Bushe, on 6 January 1853.1 He died on 19 April 1878.1
     He held the office of Magistrate, Dublin Metropolitan Police.1

     He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow, London, EnglandG.1 He graduated from Corpus Christi College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He was appointed King's Counsel (K.C.) [Ireland] in 1889.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Mid-Armagh between 1891 and 1900.1 He held the office of Solicitor-General [Ireland] between 1897 and 1900.1 He held the office of Judge of the High Court of Justice [Ireland] between 1900 and 1904.1 He held the office of Judge of the Chancery Division between 1904 and 1918.1 He held the office of Senator of the National University of Ireland between 1909 and 1937.1 He was created 1st Baronet Barton [U.K.] on 28 January 1918.1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.)
