     Captain John Charles Barton was born on 6 April 1918.1 He was the son of Lt.-Col. William Hugh Barton and Ardyn Marion Patteson.1 He died on 8 April 1943 at age 25, of wounds in North Africa, he was unmarried.1
     He was educated at Rugby School, Rugby, Warwickshire, England.1 He was educated at Royal Military Academy, Woolwich, Kent, England.1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the service of the Royal Artillery.1 He was decorated with the award of the Chev, Legion d'Honneur.1 He was decorated with the award of the Croix de Guerre avec palme.1

     Ruth Ardyn Barton was born on 15 February 1921.1 She was the daughter of Lt.-Col. William Hugh Barton and Ardyn Marion Patteson.1 She married Lt.-Col. Henry Arthur Brinsley Cavendish Butler, son of Major Henry Halpin Cavendish Butler, on 24 March 1940.1 She died on 21 September 1951 at age 30, with her only son, as the result of a railway accident.1
      From 24 March 1940, her married name became Butler.1

     Lt.-Col. Henry Arthur Brinsley Cavendish Butler is the son of Major Henry Halpin Cavendish Butler.1 He married, firstly, Ruth Ardyn Barton, daughter of Lt.-Col. William Hugh Barton and Ardyn Marion Patteson, on 24 March 1940.1
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the service of the Royal Engineers.1 As of 1976, Lt.-Col. Henry Arthur Brinsley Cavendish Butler lived at Silver Hill, Rostrevor, County Down, Ireland.1
