     From 15 August 1893, her married name became Meiklejohn.1

     Major-Gen. Sir William Hope Meiklejohn was the son of Reverend W. H. Meiklejohn.1 He married Maud Louisa Hamilton Beamish, daughter of Rear-Adm. Henry Hamilton Beamish and Blanche Georgina Hughes, on 15 August 1893, they had one son and one daughter.1 He died on 1 May 1909.1
     Major-Gen. Sir William Hope Meiklejohn was invested as a Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.).1 He was invested as a Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.).1
