     Brigadier Ralph Frederick Richard Becher was born on 6 December 1896.1 He was the son of Very Rev. Harry Becher and Zoe Louise Hudson.2 He married Edith Jessica Cox, daughter of Albert Edward Cox, on 4 January 1928.1 He died in January 1979 at age 82.3
      Brigadier Ralph Frederick Richard Becher usually went by his middle name of Frederick.1 He was educated between February 1911 and February 1915 at Uppingham School, Uppingham, Rutland, England.1 He fought in the First World War, during which he was mentioned in despatches.1 He fought in the Second World War, during which he was mentioned in despatches twice.1 He was the Deputy Chief of Staff in the G1 Division of Supreme Headquarters Allied Expeditionary Force (SHAEF) in 1944.1 He was Deputy Director of Organisation (Officers) in the War Office between 1944 and 1946.1 He was invested as a Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1946.1 He gained the rank of Brigadier in the service of the The Cameronians (Scots Rifles).1 He lived at Castlehaven House, Castletownshend, County Cork, Ireland, which he sold in 1972.1 He lived at Drumearn, Comrie, Perthshire, Scotland.1
