     Theobald Richard FitzWalter Butler was born on 24 May 1894.1 He was the son of Theobald Butler and Elizabeth Bailey.1 He married Laura Rachel Mary Nash, daughter of Sir Vincent Nash, on 28 July 1948.1 He died on 9 March 1976 at age 81, without issue.1
     Theobald Richard FitzWalter Butler was educated at Charterhouse School, Godalming, Surrey, England.1 He was educated at University College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.1 He was admitted to Inner Temple in 1921 entitled to practice as a barrister.1 He held the office of Recorder of Newark in 1945.1 He was Chairman of the Nottinghamshire Quarter Sessions in 1954.1 He held the office of Bencher of the Inner Temple in 1960.1 He was Deputy Chairman of the Middlesex Quarter Sessions between 1960 and 1965.1 He was Chancellor of the Diocese of Peterborough in 1962.1 He was Chairman of the Greater London (SE Area) Quarter Sessions between 1965 and 1967.1 He was senior editor of Archbold's Criminal Proceedings in 1973.1 He lived at Highgate, London, England.1
