John Blake1

     John Blake was the son of Richard Blake.1 He married Julia Browne.1 He died circa 1586.1
     In an award of 1542, Richard Blake, with his son and heir John Blake, confirmed his ancestors' gifts to the church of St. Nicholas, Galway, County Galway, IrelandG.1 On 6 March 1571, John Blake and his cousin John Blake obtained a decree by the Lord President and the Council of Connaught that lands belonging to the complainants in Kiltullagh, etc., should be held by them for ever, free from all charges to The Queen or any other charges. This decree was ratified and confirmed by a decree made on 25 October 1616 by the Lord Deputy and Commissioners appointed for settling The King's compositions.1,2

John Blake1

     John Blake was the son of Nicholas Blake and Cecilia Lynch.2 He married Cecilia Skerrett.2 He died on 20 April 1581.2
     On 6 March 1571, John Blake and his cousin John Blake obtained a decree by the Lord President and the Council of Connaught that lands belonging to the complainants in Kiltullagh, etc., should be held by them for ever, free from all charges to The Queen or any other charges. This decree was ratified and confirmed by a decree made on 25 October 1616 by the Lord Deputy and Commissioners appointed for settling The King's compositions.1,2 On 27 June 1579, John Blake mortgaged a moiety of the lands of Morughe and Doulis in the franchise of Galway to Julia Browne, wife of John Blake FitzRichard. This mortgage was redeemed in 1593.2

Julia Browne1

     Julia Browne married, firstly, John Blake, son of Richard Blake.1 She married, secondly, Antony Kirwan.1
     Her married name became Blake.1 On 27 June 1579, John Blake mortgaged a moiety of the lands of Morughe and Doulis in the franchise of Galway to Julia Browne, wife of John Blake FitzRichard. This mortgage was redeemed in 1593.2 Her married name became Kirwan.1

     Walter Blake was the son of John Blake and Anabel de Burgo.1
     He held the office of Bishop of Clonmacnoise in 1487.1 He held the office of Archbishop of Tuam in 1506, appointed by King Henry VII, but the nomination was not sanctioned by the Pople.1
