     Nicholas Blake was the son of John Blake and Eveline Skerrett.1 He married, firstly, Ennes French, daughter of Marcus French, in a childless marriage.1 He married, secondly, Cecilia Lynch, daughter of Walter Lynch, before 1556.1 His will (dated 18 September 1564) was probated on 28 September 1568.1
     Between Nicholas Blake and his kinsman Richard Blake an award was made by Patrick Barnewall, Serjeant-at-law, to settle disputes as to the division of lands inherited from Henry Blake, Sr. on 6 July 1542.1 He held the office of Mayor of Galway in 1555.1
