     Lieutenant Simon Blakeney was the son of Captain Robert Blakeney and Elizabeth Marshall.1 He married Marcella Blakeney, daughter of Thomas Blakeney and Sarah Burke.1 He died in 1780.1 He was buried at Tuam Cathedral, Tuam, County Galway, Ireland.1
     Lieutenant Simon Blakeney gained the rank of Lieutenant in the service of the Colonel Robert Blakeney's Regiment of Dragoons.1 He was Portreeve of Athenry.1 He lived at Parke, County Galway, Ireland,1 and at Gortgariffe, County Galway, Ireland.1
