     Lieutenant Edward Blakeney was born in 1659.1 He was the son of Major Robert Blakeney and Susannah Ormsby.1 He married Deborah Staunton, daughter of Captain Thomas Staunton and Deborah Morgan.1
     Lieutenant Edward Blakeney received the Freedom of Galway on 1 August 1684.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant on 30 September 1702 in the service of the Captain Robert Blakeney's Troop of Dragoons.1 He lived at Castle Gallagh, County Galway, Ireland.1
