Lt.-Col. Claud George Cole-Hamilton was born on 27 January 1869.1 He was the son of Captain William Claud Cole-Hamilton and Caroline Elizabeth Josephine Stuart.1 He married Lucy Charlewood Thorold, daughter of Reginald Henry Thorold, on 4 April 1893.1 He died on 6 January 1957 at age 87.1
Lt.-Col. Claud George Cole-Hamilton fought in the Boer War between 1901 and 1902, where he was mentioned in despatches.1 He was decorated with the award of Companion, Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.)
