     He was educated at Lancing College, Lancing, Sussex, England.1 He fought in the Second World War, where he became a POW.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the service of the Gordon Highlanders.1 He was invested as a Member, Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.) in 1945.1 He lived in 1952 at Down Farm, Tunworth, Basingstoke, Hampshire, England.1
