Catherine Mary Walter was born on 2 December 1820.1 She was the daughter of John Walter and Mary Smythe.1 She died on 16 January 1844 at age 23, from a chill.1 She was buried at St. Catherine's Church, Bear Wood, Wokingham, Berkshire, England.1

Captain Sir Edward Walter was born in 1824.1 He was the son of John Walter and Mary Smythe.1 He married Mary Anne Althorpe, daughter of J. C. Althorpe.1 He died on 28 February 1904.1
Captain Sir Edward Walter gained the rank of Captain in the service of the 8th Hussars.1 In 1859 he founded the Corps of Commissionaires.1 He was invested as a Knight in 1885.1 He was invested as a Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.) in 1887.1
