     William McKeage was born on 24 January 1872 at Coleraine, County Londonderry, Ireland.2,1 He was the son of James McKeage and Rose McDowell. He married Katherine Violet Hawkins, daughter of William Hawkins and Elizabeth Southernwood, on 5 June 1906 at Napier, New Zealand.1 He died on 21 June 1949 at age 77.2,3 He was buried at Hinds Cemetery, Hinds, Canterbury, New Zealand.3 His estate was probated on 4 August 1949 at Lowcliffe, Canterbury, New Zealand.4
     William McKeage has an extensive biographical entry in the William served on the Lowcliffe School Committee, and was a member of the Coldstream Road Board for 28 year, including some time as Chairman. He was a Trustee of the Methodist Church for 43 years.
