     William Brown was born circa 1844 at County Armagh, IrelandG.1 He was the son of John Brown and Mary Jane (?)1 He married Margaret Bennett, daughter of Robert Bennett and Jane Guy, in 1879.1
     William, Jane, Letitia, Samuel, John, George, Ellen and Susanna immigrated with his parents to Lyttelton, Canterbury, New ZealandG, on the ship Zealandia, arriving 25 May 1862.1 He was a farmer before 1875 at Courtenay, Canterbury, New ZealandG.1 He was a farmer before 1875 at Templeton, Canterbury, New ZealandG.1 He was a farmer in 1875 at Wakanui, Canterbury, New ZealandG.1

Margaret Bennett

     Margaret Bennett was born in 1846 at County Armagh, IrelandG.1 She was the daughter of Robert Bennett and Jane Guy. She married, firstly, Henry Bennett, son of Henry Bennett and Ellen (?), on 11 January 1866 at St. Michaels Church, Christchurch, New ZealandG.2 She married, secondly, William Brown, son of John Brown and Mary Jane (?), in 1879.3 She died on 26 September 1898 at Tinwald, Ashburton, New ZealandG.1 She was buried on 28 September 1898 at Ashburton Public Cemetery, Old Section, Ashburton, New ZealandG, plot 337.4,5
     Margaret immigrated to Lyttelton, Canterbury, New ZealandG, on the ship The Blue Jacket, arriving on 28 November 1865. The ship was held in quarantine at Camp Bay for 15 days due to an outbreak of scarlet fever on board. However, Margaret does not appear on the passenger list.6 From 1879, her married name became Brown.7

     Charles McIver was born in 1905.1 He was the son of James McIver and Letitia Brown. He married Joyce Candy.2 He died on 3 June 1979 at Rakaia, Canterbury, New ZealandG, a heart attack while driving his car.1
     He was a service station proprietor of the Midway Service Station from 1955 to 1965 at Main North Road, Rakaia, Canterbury, New ZealandG.1
