     Henry Bennett was born in 1837 at Tullyhue, County Armagh, Ireland.3 He was the son of Henry Bennett and Ellen (?).2 He married Margaret Bennett, daughter of Robert Bennett and Jane Guy, on 11 January 1866 at St. Michaels Church, Christchurch, New Zealand.1 He died on 20 July 1877 at Wakanui, Canterbury, New Zealand, from an accident, where he fell off his dray and was run over, dying four days later.3 He was buried on 21 July 1877 at Ashburton Old Cemetery, Kermode St, Ashburton, New Zealand, plot 29.4,5
     Henry immigrated to Lyttelton, Canterbury, New Zealand on the ship Matoaka, arriving on February 1862. He was a farmer in 1863 at Templeton, Canterbury, New Zealand.6 He was a farmer circa 1873 at Wakanui, Canterbury, New Zealand.7
