     Rt. Hon. Lord Otho Augustus FitzGerald was born on 10 October 1827.2 He was the son of Augustus Frederick FitzGerald, 3rd Duke of Leinster and Hon. Charlotte Augusta Stanhope. He married Ursula Lucy Grace Bridgeman, daughter of Vice-Admiral Hon. Charles Orlando Bridgeman and Eliza Caroline Chamberlain, on 14 December 1861.3 He died on 19 November 1882 at age 55.2
     He gained the rank of officer in the service of the Royal Horse Guards.2 He was Gentleman of the Bedchamber to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for County Kildare between 1865 and 1874.1 He held the office of Treasuer of the Household in 1866.2 He held the office of Comtroller of the Household between 1868 and 1874.2 He was invested as a Privy Counsellor (P.C.).1
