     Elizabeth Bennison was born on 12 September 1857 at Falsgrave, Yorkshire, England.1,2 She was the daughter of William Bennison and Elizabeth Newbegin.1 She was christened on 30 September 1857 at Wold Newton, Yorkshire, England.3 She married, firstly, William Ewen on 1 June 1877 at William Bennison's house, Hinds, Canterbury, New Zealand.1 She married, secondly, William Aitken, son of William Aitken and Elizabeth Orr, on 9 November 1887 at Mr Dawson's House, Esk Street, Invercargill, New Zealand.1 She died on 19 March 1893 at age 35 at Willowby, Canterbury, New Zealand.2,1,4 She was buried on 22 March 1893 at Ashburton Public Cemetery, Old Section, Ashburton, New Zealand, plot 731.1,2
