     Eliza Jane Hampton was baptised on 8 October 1852 at Kilmore Parish Church, Kilmore, County Armagh, Ireland.2 She was born in 1852 at Drumard Primate, Kilmore, County Armagh, Ireland.3 She was the daughter of William Hampton and Mary Rowntree.1 She married, firstly, John Duffield on 26 March 1876 at Christchurch, New Zealand.1 She married, secondly, John Butterfield in 1887.4 She died on 26 April 1924 at age 71 She died while voyaging on holiday back to Ireland, and was buried at sea between Perth and Sri Lanka..4
     Eliza and William John Hampton immigrated to New Zealand, arriving on 1873.2 From 26 March 1876, her married name became Duffield.1 From 1887, her married name became Butterfield.1
