Major Hon. James Duthac Carnegie was born on 26 September 1910.1 He was the son of Sir Charles Noel Carnegie, 10th Earl of Southesk and Ethel Mary Elizabeth Bannerman.1 He married Claudia Katharine Angela Blackburn, daughter of Hon. Robert Francis Leslie Blackburn, Lord Blackburn and Constance Frances Bowes-Lyon, on 26 February 1935.1 He died on 14 January 1996 at age 85.1
