Lt.-Col. Sir Frederick Rossmore Wauchope Eveleigh-de Moleyns, 5th Baron Ventry was born on 11 December 1861.1 He was the son of Sir Dayrolles Blakeney Eveleigh-de Moleyns, 4th Baron Ventry and Harriet Elizabeth Frances Wauchope.2 He died on 22 September 1923 at age 61, unmarried.1
Lt.-Col. Sir Frederick Rossmore Wauchope Eveleigh-de Moleyns, 5th Baron Ventry was baptised with the name of Frederick Rossmore Wauchope de Moleyns.1 He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow on the Hill, London, England.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of County Kerry.1 He gained the rank of Major and Brevet Lieutenant-Colonel in the service of the 4th Hussars.1 He fought in the Boer War between 1896 and 1897, where he was mentioned in despatches twice.1 He was decorated with the Companion, Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1897.1 He succeeded to the title of 5th Baron Ventry, of Ventry, co. Kerry [I., 1800] on 8 February 1914.1
