     Jane Craufurd was the daughter of Sir James Gregan-Craufurd of Kilbirnie, 2nd Bt. and Maria Theresa Gage.2 She married, firstly, General Christopher Chowne on 12 October 1823.1 She married, secondly, Rev. Sir Henry Robert Dukinfield, 7th Bt., son of Sir Nathaniel Dukinfield, 5th Bt. and Katherine Ward, on 29 August 1836.1 She died on 25 May 1884.1
     From 12 October 1823, her married name became Chowne.1 From 29 August 1836, her married name became Dukinfield.1

     Maj.-Gen. Robert Craufurd was born on 5 May 1764.1 He was the son of Sir Alexander Craufurd of Kilbirnie, 1st Bt. and Jane Crokatt.2 He married Mary Frances Holland, daughter of Henry Holland, on 7 February 1800.1 He died on 24 January 1812 at age 47 at Ciudad Rodrigo, SpainG, killed in action, leading his troops.1
     He fought in the Peninsualr Wars.1 He was Major-General of the Light Division.1
