George Edward Darroch was born on 22 April 1846.2 He was the son of Major Duncan Darroch, 4th of Gourock and Drums and Susan Parker.3 He married, firstly, Adelaide Frances Valpy, daughter of Richard Valpy, on 8 January 1873.2 He married, secondly, May Catherine Beaumont, daughter of Henry Frederick Beaumont and Maria Johanna Garthorpe, on 24 February 1904.2 He died on 10 October 1932 at age 86.2
He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Hertfordshire in 1904.2 He lived at Braidley, Canford Cliffs, Bournemouth, Dorset, England.1 He lived at 40 Stanhope Gardens, London, England.1 He also had a son, three elder daughters and a youngest daughter (all died unmarried) by his first wife.2

Sir James Gregan Craufurd of Kilbirnie, 8th Bt. was born on 23 February 1886.1 He was the son of Henry Robert Craufurd and Alice Jane Wood.2 He married Ruth Marjorie Corder, daughter of Frederic Corder, on 11 April 1931.1 He died on 7 April 1970 at age 84.1
He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow on the Hill, London, England.1 He graduated from University College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, with a Master of Arts (M.A.).1 He was admitted to Lincoln's Inn in 1914 entitled to practice as a barrister.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Hertfordshire in 1930.1 He succeeded to the title of 8th Baronet Craufurd, of Kilbirney, Ayrshire [G.B., 1781] on 10 July 1966.1
