     Alan Stewart was born on 19 May 1844.1 He was the son of Arthur Stewart and Mary Madan.2 He married Emily Louisa Sawyer, daughter of John James Sawyer, on 21 January 1875.1 He died on 25 December 1924 at age 80.1
     Alan Stewart graduated from Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.).1 He was a practising barrister.1

     Arthur Charles Stewart was born on 18 February 1877.1 He was the son of Alan Stewart and Emily Louisa Sawyer.2 He married, firstly, Geraldine Susan Louisa Lloyd, daughter of Captain E. W. C. Lloyd, on 15 July 1903.1 He married, secondly, Sharon Watson Helsby, daughter of W. C. Helsby, on 1 January 1910.1 He died on 10 June 1941 at age 64, without issue.1
     Arthur Charles Stewart was registered as a Member, Royal Society of British Artists (R.B.A.).1
