Sir John Stewart-Clark, 3rd Bt. was born on 17 September 1929.2 He is the son of Sir Stewart Stewart-Clark, 2nd Bt. and Jane Pamela Clarke.3 He married Jonkvrouwe Lydia Frederika Loudon Loudon, daughter of Jonkheer James William Loudon, on 16 July 1958.2
He was 2nd Lieutenant Coldstream –49, memb Royal County Archers, with J & P Coats 1952–69, md: J & P Coats Pakistan Ltd 1961–67, J A Carp's Garenfabrieken Holland 1967–79, Philips Electrical Ltd London 1970–75 and Pye of Cambridge 1975–79 Gds 1948.2 He lived Dundas Castle.2 W Lothian.2 He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.2 He gained the title of 3rd Baronet Stewart-Clark.
