     Lt.-Col. Philip Charles Yorke was born on 13 April 1844.1 He was the son of Reverend Charles Isaac Yorke and Ellen Leigh.2 He married Emily Marion Raikes, daughter of Henry Raikes, on 11 April 1872.1 He died on 27 January 1895 at age 50.1
     Lt.-Col. Philip Charles Yorke gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the service of the 1st Battalion, King's Own Loyal Lancashire Regiment.1
