James Ernest Buchan was born on 11 June 1954.1 He is the son of William de l'Aigle Buchan, 3rd Baron Tweedsmuir and Barbara Howard Ensor.1 He married Lady Evelyn Rose Phipps, daughter of Oswald Constantine John Phipps, 4th Marquess of Normanby and Hon. Grania Meve Rosaura Guinness, in 1986.1
     Hon. James Ernest Buchan was educated at Eton College, Eton, Berkshire, England.1 He was a journalist with the Financial Times.1 He wrote the book Frozen Desire: an inquiry into the meaning of money, published 1997.1 He lived in 2003 at The White House, Middle Hill, Alby, Norwich, Norfolk, England.1
