     William de l'Aigle Buchan, 3rd Baron Tweedsmuir was born on 10 January 1916.1 He was the son of John Buchan, 1st Baron Tweedsmuir and Susan Charlotte Grosvenor.1 He married, firstly, Nesta Irene Crozier, daughter of Lt.-Col. C. D. Crozier, on 25 October 1939.1 He and Nesta Irene Crozier were divorced in 1946.1 He married, secondly, Barbara Howard Ensor, daughter of Ernest Nash Ensor, on 5 December 1946.1 He and Barbara Howard Ensor were divorced in 1960.1 He married, thirdly, Sauré Cynthia Mary Tatchell, daughter of Major Gerald Edward Tatchell, on 20 July 1960.2 He died on 29 June 2008 at age 92.3
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He was educated at New College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He gained the rank of Squadron Leader in the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve.1 He succeeded as the 3rd Baron Tweedsmuir, of Elsfield, Oxford [U.K., 1935] on 20 June 1996.1
