     Brooke Stewart Cunliffe was born on 12 June 1848.1 He was the son of Brooke Cunliffe and Diana Wentworth Stewart.2 He married Grace Amey Gordon, daughter of Thomas Gordon, in 1883.1 He died on 23 April 1936 at age 87.1
     Brooke Stewart Cunliffe gained the rank of Lieutenant in the service of the 93rd Highlanders.1 He held the office of Chief Constable of Wigtownshire.1
