     Catharine Maule Jardine was born in 1851 at New South Wales, AustraliaG.2 She was the daughter of John Jardine and Elizabeth Jane Craig.3 She married Hugh Miles Milman, son of Sir William Milman, 3rd Bt. and Matilda Frances Pretyman, on 15 July 1871 at St. Paul's Church, Rockhampton, Queensland, AustraliaG.1,2 She died on 7 July 1947 at Applegarth, Southport, Queensland, AustraliaG.1,2
     From 15 July 1871, her married name became Milman.

     Hugh Miles Milman was born on 3 August 1845.2 He was the son of Sir William Milman, 3rd Bt. and Matilda Frances Pretyman.2 He married Catharine Maule Jardine, daughter of John Jardine and Elizabeth Jane Craig, on 15 July 1871 at St. Paul's Church, Rockhampton, Queensland, AustraliaG.1,3 He died on 23 September 1911 at age 66 at Southport, Queensland, AustraliaG.2,3
     He was commissioned with the rank of Midshipman, in the service of the Royal Navy.2 He was Police Magistrate at Aramac.3 He was Governor of Thursday Island, Queensland between 1880 and 1885.2 He was Deputy Commissioner West Papua New Guinea and the Western Pacific.3

     Helen Jardine was the daughter of Sir Alexander Jardine of Applegirth, 6th Bt. and Janet Dorcas Maule.2 She married Reverend C. S. Hassells in 1827.1 She died on 9 January 1848.1

     Jane Home Lizars was born on 7 August 1799 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, ScotlandG.2 She was the daughter of Daniel Lizars.3 She married Sir William Jardine of Applegirth, 7th Bt., son of Sir Alexander Jardine of Applegirth, 6th Bt. and Janet Dorcas Maule, on 28 June 1820.1 She died on 2 March 1871 at age 71.1
     From 28 June 1820, her married name became Jardine.1

     Sir Alexander Jardine of Applegirth, 8th Bt. was born on 10 February 1829 at Applegarth, Dumfries-shire, ScotlandG.1,2 He was the son of Sir William Jardine of Applegirth, 7th Bt. and Jane Home Lizars.3 He married Henrietta Younger, daughter of William Younger of Craigielands and Isabella Johnston, on 28 December 1861 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, ScotlandG.1,2 He died on 14 January 1893 at age 63.1
     He was educated at Royal Military Academy, Woolwich, Kent, EnglandG.1 He was educated at Edinburgh, Midlothian, ScotlandG.1 He succeeded as the 8th Baronet Jardine, of Applegirth [N.S., 1672] on 9 November 1874.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.)1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)1 He lived at Jardine Hall, Dumfries-shire, ScotlandG.1

     Captain William Jardine was born on 23 January 1834 at Applegarth, Dumfries-shire, ScotlandG.1,2 He was the son of Sir William Jardine of Applegirth, 7th Bt. and Jane Home Lizars.3 He married Louisa Archer Harvey, daughter of George Cockburn Harvey, on 16 June 1864.1 He died on 28 October 1869 at age 35.1
     He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Navy.1
