Lt.-Col. Sir Robert Smythe Muir Mackenzie of Delvine, 4th Bt. was born on 27 November 1841.1 He is the son of Sir John William Pitt Muir Mackenzie of Delvine, 2nd Bt. and Sophia Matilda Johnstone.2 He married Anne Elizabeth Augusta Johnstone-Gordon, daughter of Captain Charles Kinnaird Johnstone-Gordon, on 17 October 1872.1 He died on 2 February 1918 at age 76.1
Lt.-Col. Sir Robert Smythe Muir Mackenzie of Delvine, 4th Bt. gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the service of the Royal Artillery.1 He succeeded to the title of 4th Baronet Muir Mackenzie, of Delvine, co. Perth [U.K., 1805] on 25 June 1909.1
