     Alfred Sykes was born on 6 July 1872.1 He was the son of Reverend John Heath Sykes and Frances Amelia Nind.2 He married Scènie Marguerite Genelle in 1902.1 He died on 2 July 1954 at age 81.1
     Alfred Sykes fought in the First World War between 1916 and 1918, with the 1st Canadian Pioneers.1
