     Colonel Laurence Esmonde was born on 26 December 1793.1 He was the son of John Esmonde and Helen O'Callan.2 He married Marie Louise de Montendre, daughter of Marquis unknown de Montendre, in July 1853.1 He died in December 1883.1
     Colonel Laurence Esmonde also went by the nick-name of 'Chevalier d'Esmonde'.1 He was decorated with the award of Chevalier, Legion of Honour.1 He gained the rank of Colonel in the service of the Grenadiers of Guard, French service.1
