John Grove was born in 1696.1 He was the son of Thomas Grove and Elizabeth Hooke.2 He married, firstly, Eleanor Hanham, daughter of Sir William Hanham, 3rd Bt. and Mary Norris, circa 1751.1 He married, secondly, Philippa Long, daughter of Walter Long, in 1755.1 He died in 1769.1

Alexander Napier Chinnery-Haldane, 25th of Gleneagles was born on 17 June 1907.1 He was the son of James Brodrick Chinnery-Haldane, 24th of Gleneagles and Katherine Annie Napier.2 He died in 1994.1
Alexander Napier Chinnery-Haldane, 25th of Gleneagles was educated at Harrow School, Harrow on the Hill, London, England.1 He was educated at Wadham College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the service of the Royal Scots.1 He was recognised by the Lord Lyon King of Arms, and matriculated his arms at the Lyons Office on 14 December 1984.1 He was succeeded by his kinsman James Martin Haldane of Gleneagles yr, having earlier nominated him as Tanistair of the House of Gleneagles by a Deed dated 14 Jan 1985.1
