     Thomas Grove was born in 1759.1 He was the son of John Grove and Philippa Long.1,2 He married Charlotte Pilfold, daughter of Charles Pilfold, in February 1781.1 He died on 22 April 1847.1
     Thomas Grove lived at Ferne, Wiltshire, England.1 He also had three daughters.1

     Charlotte Pilfold was the daughter of Charles Pilfold.2 She married Thomas Grove, son of John Grove and Philippa Long, in February 1781.1 She died on 12 April 1828.1
     From February 1781, her married name became Grove.

     John Grove was born in 1696.1 He was the son of Thomas Grove and Elizabeth Hooke.2 He married, firstly, Eleanor Hanham, daughter of Sir William Hanham, 3rd Bt. and Mary Norris, circa 1751.1 He married, secondly, Philippa Long, daughter of Walter Long, in 1755.1 He died in 1769.1
     John Grove lived at Ferne, Wiltshire, England.1 He also had two daughters by his second wife.1

     Henrietta Farquharson was the daughter of James Farquharson.2 She married Thomas Grove, son of Thomas Grove and Charlotte Pilfold, on 1 January 1807.1 She died on 15 February 1821, without issue.1

     Katherine Annie Napier was the daughter of William Henry Edward Napier.2 She married James Brodrick Chinnery-Haldane, 24th of Gleneagles, son of Rt. Rev. James Robert Alexander Chinnery-Haldane and Anne Elizabeth Frances Margaretta Chinnery, on 23 April 1902.1 She died on 26 April 1957.1
     From 23 April 1902, her married name became Chinnery-Haldane.1

     Alexander Napier Chinnery-Haldane, 25th of Gleneagles was born on 17 June 1907.1 He was the son of James Brodrick Chinnery-Haldane, 24th of Gleneagles and Katherine Annie Napier.2 He died in 1994.1
     Alexander Napier Chinnery-Haldane, 25th of Gleneagles was educated at Harrow School, Harrow on the Hill, London, England.1 He was educated at Wadham College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the service of the Royal Scots.1 He was recognised by the Lord Lyon King of Arms, and matriculated his arms at the Lyons Office on 14 December 1984.1 He was succeeded by his kinsman James Martin Haldane of Gleneagles yr, having earlier nominated him as Tanistair of the House of Gleneagles by a Deed dated 14 Jan 1985.1
