     Mary Joass was the daughter of Major Alexander Joass of Colleonard.1 She married James Alexander Haldane, son of James Haldane, 2nd of Airthrey and Katherine Duncan, on 18 September 1793.1 She died on 27 February 1819.1
     From 18 September 1793, her married name became Haldane.1

     James Haldane was born on 14 March 1799.1 He was the son of James Alexander Haldane and Mary Joass.2 He died on 24 January 1831 at age 31, unmarried.1

     Alexander Haldane was born on 15 October 1800.1 He was the son of James Alexander Haldane and Mary Joass.2 He married Emma Corsbie Hardcastle, daughter of Joseph Hardcastle, on 29 August 1822.1
     Alexander Haldane was educated at Edinburgh High School, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.1 He was educated at University of Edinburgh, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.1 He was a practising barrister.1 He owned the periodical The Record.1 He was a philanthropist.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Essex.1 He lived at The Manor House, Hampshire, England.1 At Westbourne Terrace (an unknown value).1 He was recognised by the Lord Lyon King of Arms as and established the right of representation of Haldane of Gleneagles including supporters, and matriculated his arms at the Lyons Office and established the right of representation of Haldane of Gleneagles including supporters on 14 May 1878.1

James Robert Alexander Chinnery-Haldane and Anne Elizabeth Frances Margaretta Chinnery.2 He married Katherine Annie Napier, daughter of William Henry Edward Napier, on 23 April 1902.3 He died on 2 May 1941 at age 72.3
