     Mary Joass was the daughter of Major Alexander Joass of Colleonard.¹ She married James Alexander Haldane, son of James Haldane, 2nd of Airthrey and Katherine Duncan, on 18 September 1793.¹ She died on 27 February 1819.¹

     James Brodrick Chinnery-Haldane, 24th of Gleneagles was born on 24 July 1868.³ He is the son of Rt. Rev. James Robert Alexander Chinnery-Haldane and Anne Elizabeth Frances Margaretta Chinnery.² He married Katherine Annie Napier, daughter of William Henry Edward Napier, on 23 April 1902.³ He died on 2 May 1941 at age 72.³

James Robert Alexander Chinnery-Haldane and Anne Elizabeth Frances Margaretta Chinnery.² He married Rebecca Clara Anna Helen Monteith, daughter of Lowry John Monteith, on 16 January 1895.¹ He died on 27 May 1947 at age 77.¹
     Patrick Vernon Chinnery-Haldane was educated at Loretto School, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.¹ He was educated at Pembroke College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.¹ He lived at Dal Bhan, Onich, Inverness-shire, Scotland.¹

     Rebecca Clara Anna Helen Monteith was the daughter of Lowry John Monteith.² She married Patrick Vernon Chinnery-Haldane, son of Rt. Rev. James Robert Alexander Chinnery-Haldane and Anne Elizabeth Frances Margaretta Chinnery, on 16 January 1895.¹ She died on 30 March 1925.¹
     From 16 January 1895, her married name became Chinnery-Haldane.¹
