     Henry Dyke Acland was born on 14 October 1850.1 He was the son of Sir Henry Wentworth Acland, 1st Bt. and Sarah Cotton.1 He married Margaret Hichens Rogers, daughter of John Jope Rogers, on 16 November 1878.1 He died on 4 April 1936 at age 85.1
     Henry Dyke Acland gained the rank of Lieutenant in the service of the Cornwall Volunteer Regiment.1 He was invested as a Fellow, Geological Society (F.G.S.).1
