     Sir Charles Munro of Foulis, 9th Bt. was born on 20 May 1794.1 He was the son of George Munro and Margaret Montgomery.2 He married, firstly, Amelia Browne, daughter of Frederick Browne, on 20 June 1817.1 He married, secondly, Harriette Midgley, daughter of Robert Midgley, on 14 January 1853.1 He died on 12 July 1886 at age 92.1
     Sir Charles Munro of Foulis, 9th Bt. fought in the Peninsular Wars in 1811.1 He was commander of the a division of the Colombian Army of independence under Simon Bolivar against Spaniards in South America.1 He succeeded to the title of 9th Baronet Munro [N.S., 1634] on 2 May 1848.1
