Frederick Barnewall Best is the son of William Samuel Best, 2nd Baron Wynford.2 He married, firstly, Charlotte Elizabeth Hart Dyke, daughter of Francis Hart Dyke and Charlotte Lascelles Fust, on 9 June 1864.3 He married, secondly, Frances Hinton Northcote, daughter of Henry Northcote, on 24 November 1870.4 He died on 5 January 1876.3
     Captain Hon. Frederick Barnewall Best gained the rank of Captain in the service of the 2nd Bengal Fusiliers.3
