     Lt.-Col. Dudley Granville Richard Ryder was born on 30 September 1858.1 He was the son of Dudley Henry Ryder and Georgiana Emily Calcraft.1 He married Ada Carr Carr-Glyn, daughter of Lt.-Gen. Sir John Plumptre Carr-Glyn, on 24 October 1889.1 He died on 27 June 1926 at age 67.1
     He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Hertfordshire.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the service of the King's Royal Rifle Corps.1 He lived at Westbrook Hay, Bovingdon, Hertfordshire, England.1
